Oliver Kipp

Graduate Student

Oliver is from Austin, Texas and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Texas State University in San Marcos, where he studied how aberrant protein phase separation contributes to human disease under the mentorship of Dr. Steven Whitten. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the Eichel Lab studying the self-assembly and maintenance of the axon initial segment in C. elegans, with a focus on the scaffolding protein ankyrin/UNC-44, disease-associated mutations in which are implicated in neurodevelopmental disorders. In his free time, he is an avid sport climber and also enjoys backpacking and entomology, including specimen collection, identification and photography.
